Phnom Penh: President of the Cambodian People's Life Development Association (CDPLA), Prum Bunthorn, expressed his concern over the rising price of gasoline again while people are already facing the loss of daily income.

The president of the association said that the increase in the gasoline price and commodities in the market now will affect the daily lives of low- and middle-income people, such as small traders, taxis, tuk-tukers, transport workers and consumers on transport services, and what is a barrier for them is the loss of income and the problem of having to deal with bank debt.
Houn Hoeun, a tuk-tuk driver in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, told CDPLA viaTelegram System, "Nowadays, it is very difficult for us to find a passenger. I have on only one passenger for three days."
The association's president's concern comes after the Ministry of Commerce announced the price of fuel from August 1-10, 2023, with regular gasoline at 4,550 riels, up 400 riels, while diesel at 4,450 riels. Price 450 riels compared to 10 days ago.
