Kandal: More than 70 workers at the Bowker Garment Factory (Cambodia) Company Limited gathered in front of the factory on Monday morning, September 29, 2025, awaiting a resolution to the case of the dismissal of knitting workers for inappropriate reasons.
Bowker Garment Factory, located in Pong Teuk Village, Bek Chan Commune, Ang Snuol District, Kandal Province, has laid off 75 knitting workers and demanded that they pay their remaining last salaries.
According to a worker who spoke to an official from the Collective Union of Movement of Workers, the company initially demanded that knitting workers be transferred to work in the sewing department, but after protests, the company decided to issue a layoff notice and demanded that they pay their last salaries without paying other compensation as stipulated in the labor law.
