Phnom Penh: In a concerted effort to advance women around the world, international organizations and governments are focusing on achieving rights, equality and empowerment for all women and girls.

On the occasion of the 114th International Day of Women and Girls on March 8, under the theme "Rights, Equality and Empowerment for All Women and Girls", Collective Union of Movement of Workers (CUMW) joined this campaign woth international organizations and governments in promoting the rights, equality and empowerment of all women and girls.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to address the persistent inequalities and challenges faced by women globally. Empowerment is at the forefront, aiming to give women the power and control over their lives, enabling them to make strategic choices and influence social change.

Equality in Education and Work: A crucial aspect of this movement is promoting equality in education and employment. Ensuring equal access to quality education is essential for empowering women, as it equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to participate fully in the workforce.

Moreover, equal representation in leadership positions is being actively pursued to break down barriers and challenge traditional gender roles. This not only benefits women but also contributes to more diverse and inclusive decision-making processes.

Protecting Rights and Combating Violence: Protecting women's rights is another key area of focus. This includes safeguarding against violence, ensuring access to healthcare, and promoting reproductive rights. Legal reforms are underway in many countries to strengthen laws that protect women from discrimination and abuse.

The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where women can live without fear of violence or marginalization. International agreements and conventions, such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), play a vital role in setting standards for women's rights.

As the world continues to strive for a more equitable future, the push for women's rights and empowerment remains a top priority. It is clear that achieving these goals will require ongoing efforts to reform policies, challenge societal norms, and support women in all aspects of life.

With continued collaboration and determination, it is possible to create a world where all women and girls have the opportunity to reach their full potential and live with dignity and respect. This vision is not only a moral imperative but also essential for building stronger, more resilient communities globally.
