New Delhi: As part of the India multinational company supply chain project, IndustriALL organized a workshop in Chennai for affiliates in the electronics sector in India on 17-18 November.
Discussions focused on how best to organize and build unions in the sector, given the global context of the sector. Participants made an action plan, which includes updating the industry mapping from a few years ago with the most recent data on newly established plants and other relevant information.
Occupational health and safety was also discussed in detail with participants sharing their plant level experiences.
Alexander Ivanou, IndustriALL sector director for electronics, participated in the meeting together with union members from across the country.
